The Firm handles appeals and constitutional law issues for its clients. WLC
| The Williams Law Corporation®
has several reported appellate opinions to its credit in the areas of
government contract debarment, copyright, and criminal law. The firm’s
founder, J. Craig Williams, is admitted to practice before the United
States, California, Washington, Massachusetts and Iowa Supreme Courts,
the Eighth and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the District of
Columbia Court of Appeals.
One of these reported opinions, Hajek v. Iowa Board of Parole, was
argued by Firm Founder J. Craig Williams as a Certified Practicing Law
Clerk while a law student at the University of Iowa College of Law. He
argued before the Iowa Court of Appeal and briefed the case to the Iowa
Supreme Court, resulting in a victory for his client.
The Firm’s seminal copyright opinion in Fonavisa v. Cherry Auction was the precursor to the now-famous Napster and Grokster decisions before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Firm also handles posting and challenging appellate bonds, writs
of supersedas, writs of prohibition, writs of mandate, writs of
administrative mandamus and writs of certiorari.
